SMSC Multi-LUN Mass Storage Class Driver
⌐2002, Standard Microsystems Corporation
---------------------------------------------------------
Version 1.1.1 - 10/30/2002 for Mac Mac OS 8.6-9.2
OEM Information
----------------------------------------
1. Changing the Vendor/Product ID
You must obtain a custom driver from SMSC since the VID/PID is
compiled into the driver. This is an Apple driver architecture requirement.
2. Changing the drive icons
To change the drive icons, you must create an 'icns' resource
for each LUN that you want to support, with a maximum of 3 (lun0-3).
The resource file that the driver uses to display the icons is
located in the preferences folder, and is called "mscicons".
This resource file must contain 4 resources with ID's 0,1,2,3
respectively, which represents the icon family for the LUN of
the drive you want to change.
Use the SHAREWARE application Iconographer 2.4, available at
http://www.mscape.com/products/downloads/iconographer.sit to load
in, and edit the default icons file provided with this installation.
This software will allow you to edit the icns resources in the
"mscicons" file, and resave the new icons you edit.
Contact SMSC if you need a new installer built that installs any
OEM specific "mscicons" file. This file is automatically installed
when the driver software is installed.
The system needs to be restarted for the new icons to take effect.
